I havent seen a thread for this spot but it has been consistent for many years. The weekends fill up a narrow channel between the island and the sandbar to the northwest part of the island. At low tide the bar is exposed. It gets pretty happening and the fun lasts til about 2 hours before sundown as everyone then disbands for the trip home if not staying overnite

.
The island allows for overnite camping as well and many people take advantage of the public facilities available including electric, water, showers and yes bathrooms!! Access the island at the public dock on either east or west side. no overnite dockage is allowed so, for campers unless you have reserved and paid for a site, a swim in from an anchoring is necessary.
For the landlubbers a taxi is available from either Sailfish Marina of Singer Island or from the Riviera Beach Marina dont know the rates bu it is worth it as people wanting to join the party can traverse the narrow channel and get to the sandbar during a med/high tide or lower.
Its a great spot for families also as there is a museum highlighting local history and a tour of the old C.G. station and the renovated Kennedy bunker. There is also a snorkeling lagoon for kids with a lifeguard!!
CHECK IT OUT!!
