Believe it or not, it has been 2 years since we began as a hole in the wall local group on Yahoo Groups. Where better to celebrate than at the greatest sandbar anywhere! As if that wasn't enough, there is a full moon party at Morada Bay Saturday night. We'll be headed down on Friday June 29 and headed back Sunday July 1. Don't hear about this one second hand- BE THERE!!!

Full Moon Parties

Every Full Moon, we host a large beach party with multiple bonfires in the sand and many different specialty drinks available at our indoor and outdoor bars. Settle into an Adirondack chair and enjoy a Café entertainer playing guitar (flamenco, rockabilly, jazz), the Matecumbe Tribal drum circle on Pierre's beach, or an electric Reggae band in the center of the beach.
After 10:00 pm, DJ's maintain the dance & party vibe at both the Café and the Green Flash Lounge at Pierre's. In addition, any number of other performers may join the Party throughout the evening: Brazilian Capoeira dancers, fire blowers, African dancers, face painters, giant screen TV’s, fireworks, ...
A $10.00 cover charge applies to all guests. No young adults under the age of 21 are allowed to participate without parental supervision. Last seating for both restaurants is at approximately 9:30 pm; the Café’s bars and the Green Flash Lounge at Pierre's will, however, remain open to until...???

Everyone should try to make it to this party! I went to my first one for the "You Gotta Regatta in Islamorada" weekend trip and it was the best beach party I've ever been to. And the more raft-up.com folks that go, the better it'll be!! So start planning now...

hey BoatCapt71, i noticed you mentioned a $10 cover, one of those parties is probably just about the best way i can think of to spend $10, but out of curiosity, do you have to pay it when u arrive by boat? i have been to several full moon parties by boat and never paid a cover charge, i'm just wondering if thats changed and they have put a staff member out there on their "dock" (in quotes because it holds about 3 boats)

You can't really come by boat anymore as they blow up massive quantities of commercial grade fireworks off of that dock.

Well.. even though you might not be able to dock right in front of Morada Bay...(well withought gettin blown up anyways...), you can always go about 200ft South to the Bass Pro Shop/ Islamorada Fish Company docks, and walk on over to the Full Moon Party. The only down side is that cover charge... But hey, It's not that bad.
Believe me when I say, that a boat ride to this event is much better than a car ride!

What's the plan for hotel/overnight? This is pre July 4 weekend so I figure it might be packed. Need to figure out whether to tow boat, drive boat, leave boat...
