St. Johns River

Wanting some local information about the St. Johns River. Hotspots, raft-ups, local events, best places to hang out on the river. Navigating advice etc. I would like to trailer down and travel the river. Anybody travel the river? Can email me at: tequilaboat@hotmail.com

St John's river... You can Jump on the river from North Orlando from Lake Monroe and travel it through St Augustine and from there hit the coast. I lot of wake zones. A lot of hotels and restaurant on the river to dock at. You can also rent house boats on the river. I only travel it once for a day at lake George. I didn't see a lot of hot spots or a ton of boaters... Maybe bad Timing?

Re: St. Johns River

We run up the St. Johns only when we have nothing better to do as the ramp is only 3 miles from my house! The only real reason to run the river is to get to the Glenn.

The north end is a lot better, not as many wake zones. If you put in at Palatka you can run up to JVille for the day and hit the Landing for lunch and drinks.

Did you hit the Glenn? If you did it was most likly dead because the water is still to cold. Wait a couple of weeks and the two boats and beer will be all over the place

I see on hotboat your new to the area, what part of Orlando you out of?

Re: St. Johns River

I live in West Orlando Winter Garden.. You can see Lake Apopka from My house.. Yes I just bought my first boat 7 months ago. I love it.. I only hit the St Johns 2 times. The Glenn? Where is that? How long boat to Jacksonville (the Landing)? I went to blue springs area and Lake George Area. Where else do you boat? I like the Tampa Coast... The Clermont Chain of lakes is a nice 1/2 day trip. Not a lot of parties though...

The Glenn (Silver Glen Springs) is on the West side of lake George. Clear water with out all the gators it will be kickin on the weekends once the weather warms up. See attached map.

We go to dis. island mostly as the kids can run wild all day. Once I get the sea strainer installed on my boat we are going to start going down to beer can and honeymoon island.
