| Re: Towing A PWC towing a PWC is generally not a good idea unless you can disable the water intake system. most mfg's caution against towing because of water ingestion issues. from a practical side, if you tow it at slow speed on a short painter it can be handled fairly well. at speed you'll need to let it ride on the back of the 2nd wave in your wake and that is generally a fairly long painter. this is not an issue on open water, but in closer quarters its very easy to wrap the painter around your wheel(s). if you have a large enough boat to carry it, putting the PWC on board with a davit or lift is really the way to go. much safer and you won't have to worry about sinking the PWC, backing over the painter or smashing it into the back of your boat. |
