Just got back from the Bahamas

Well, We just got back from Lucaya. It was a nice 4 day trip. We made the run over in 8-10's. It was STUPID! Took us 4 hours to get to Lucaya. We took, 2 hard waves over the bow and took out all of our electronics! Nav, depth sounder and Radar....all gone.

The ride back was nice it took 3 hrs 20 mins. WE even stopped to see a pack of Pilot whales.

Johnathan, looks like we'll be calling Bobby to all new electronics. See you at the Palm Beach show.

I made a trip back from Bimini in seas like that once. It really sucked but we made it in about 3 hours.

Why did you lose all of your electronics? What exactly got wet?

Happy you made it! did you loose your cookies on the way over, LOL!! Those kind of seas suck!!
Any plans for the weekend? I wanna hear all about the trip

Hey Eric, this is Jason we rafted up at the lake a couple times. Sounds like you had a fun trip to the other side. I'm heading to the cove friday and was wondering if the raft up offer was still on the table?

There was standing water inside the T-top box after we made it in. The wave broke the eisin (sp?) glass and sent a wave of water straight down the center console. Now, I can see it being water resistant, but it was fully submerged twice. I did the best I could to rinse it off, but i think it was too little too late. All that stuff is almost 10 years old. We were already talking about getting new electronics anyway. I guess now it's really time.

Then we had battery problems. I could run the radio for 20 mins and then I couldn't start the engines....Real nice. And we won't even talk about the through hull fitting that broke! And the underwater lights that stopped working halfway through the trip. We got a pair of the Abyss 1515's blue.

I'll see if I can find some pics somewhere to post. Thank god they were all over 18!

I'm pretty sure we're still on for the Cove on Friday. Gotta talk to Spike about getting a set of Optima Marine Batteries to keep the party going and going and going!

This is an unrelated quesion....when they were working, did you like the Abyss lights? What exactly broke on them?
8-10's that's insane! I took our 36' Tiara over in 6-8, but that's manageable..
