Its on the sand bar at the west point. Depending on the tide the water is around 4' deep. We were walking in chest deep water last year.

scarbchris, hey unless u got others expecting you on the west side, lets move it middle some. out there on the west u get the wake of those in the channel etc. just an idea!
scvencer, FYI, we should be good, looks like it will be low tide from 11a-4p, no need for the rafts unless anchored further from the sandbar. i gotta stay a bit away cuz of the drives & all

Have you checked out the site for this event? The link is on the first page. They do it on the SW point on the sand bar. If you move from that spot you will be anchored away from the action.

I don't recall boat wakes being a problem last year.

I'm bummed. I was hired to run a boat on Saturday, and the crew was all for going out to the Regatta. We were zipping across the bay when an engine overheated. Seeing as I was new to the boat, we decided not to chance a long run- We ended up at Monument Island. I can tell you that was my first and last time there- What a bunch of clowns! No wonder PWC riders get such a bad rep. We were all hoping one of them would get clothes-lined as they ripped by us at 60mph while we were at anchor! Try that up in Broward and see if someone doesn't run you down.
