| | | Re: 4 boat ramps south of Peanut Island As Hot4Teacher said ( and unfortunately experienced ) on the Peanut Island Raftup thread... lotta sand and very shallow at low tide around Peanut Island!
Check your charts... From observation, I think the best navigation is south and east of the island to get to the north side.

| | | Re: 4 boat ramps south of Peanut Island Yeah, it'd be great to have Handfulz and Ticklestick out there on the sandbar. This time perhaps I can win at a game of HORSESHOES. LOL
We met some really fantastic folks out there and you'll love 'em too!

| | Re: 4 boat ramps south of Peanut Island It seems that watching the tide is important to planning a raft-up at Peanut Island. The low tide this Sunday is 8:30am. The following Sunday is 2:30pm. This date in 2 weeks would get everyone whose trailering back south off the sandbar without running aground at about 5:30pm I'm thinkin'. Do you think July 29 would be a good Sunday to plan a raftup?

| | | Re: 4 boat ramps south of Peanut Island Theres a little channel you can run just on the N side of island it stays deep. Best to anchor off it. 2 anchors this way you can pull yourself either way when the tide changes. Dont get locked into the middle of that mess because when the tide rolls most of those yahoo's are so faced you wont get cooperation in re-positioning. Leave yourself an escape route. If you anchor around the snadbar it provides 2-4' depending where you anchor. Its a long wait high & dry for the tide.
We should be up there this weekend. |
