Yesterday I received an invitation to crew on a sailing vessel for a crossing to and then through the Mediterranean Sea for the month of June 2008. I'm estactic!
Here is the email from Captain Jerry regarding the points east:
"From here to Bermuda is about 550 miles, if we average 140 miles per 24 hours, that's about 4 days.
From Bermuda to the Azores is about ( great circle) 1800 miles or about 13 days.
From the Azores to Gibralter is about 1000 miles or about another 8 days. Remember this is calculated at the boat averaging 6 kts. More or less, thats how long it takes. Once you are in the "Med" there really aren't any long distance sails longer than a day or two. There are a lot of books you can read on the subject of an ocean crossing but I can't think of them right now. Best resource is Bluewater Books over on 17th St. I think they have a website.
Welcome Aboard!
Jerry"
Anyone on this forum wanna raft-up at any of these locations or in the "Med" June/July 2008?

. I'm going to send emails while on the journey, if you'd like to be included just Private message me.
