Did Anybody Hang Out In The River This Past Weekend For The Poker Run There Was Alot Of Nice Boats Out There

I saw them Friday night at the Landing and then again Saturday at the Outback Crab Shack. After leaving the Crab Shack we floated in the St. Johns to take pictures as they left the Crab Shack and flew by us top speed. TOTALLY AWESOME!! Even got a few good shots of the helicopter guiding them out. We put in at the Knights Marina, as we put in a couple of the boats were pulling out due to blown engines. Man that had to STINK cause some of the boats come all the way from Maryland and Texas. We also rafted up at the sandbar after everyone left the Crab Shack. Great day!!!

We didn't make it out in time to see them this year but last year we were on our way down the river to Black Creek when the lead boat returned from Palatka. He came by us wide open about 40 yards away. It was awesome to see a boat go that fast.

The boats were insane cool (especially the blue skater...ya'll know the one, if you saw it) but the Jax Parks and Rec guys were trying to be $%&holes. I had to set the one guy straight at the Landing Thursday afternoon, but what a jerk. I'm all for supporting the police and fire folks but I don't think the city should shut out locals to make a buck in any scenario (and then try to get cocky about it), since we're the ones paying the bills here day in and day out. But great turnout and awesome boats.

Yea, I heard that from a couple of different people who were trying to come by boat to the Landing on Friday
I totally agree, they should at least reserve an area for the local boaters not participating in the run....its only fare.

They Wre Going To Park The Boats Down At Metro But They Are Doing Something To The Docks

Yea, they are doing alot of dredging around the docks. Hopefully they will be finished by the time football season gets here!!
