If you're going for a full wrap, let the pros install it. You can go to a Sign A Rama and have any graphics you want printed on the vinyl, and then try and install it yourself. But if it doesn't come out right, you've got to do it all over.
But if you really want to tackle it yourself, these guys won't laugh at you:
Kinetic Animation When I finally decide to go "Overhaulin" marine-style on my boat, I'll use them.
The vinyl and inks used are supposed to be UV stable for at least 5 years. The vinyl will be just as delicate as paint which are both more delicate than gel coat. Not sure what the "don't trailer it" idea is, unless you have guideposts or something. If so, I'd say wrap the posts with bunk carpet.
