Question Boat Wraps; What can you tell me about them?

Calling on everyone's expertise in Boat Wraps. I'd like to get some info about price, value, life span, DIY difficulties, etc., etc.

Thanks Jonathan, I've been on that site. (many times actually) But like most sites advertising their product, they neglect to tell you things like; oh it's only good for a month or two, or great on the water but don't trailer it!, or laugh hysterically after you leave knowing you're going to attempt the installation yourself. LOL
I would like to hear someones firsthand knowledge and any horror stories before making the leap.

If you're going for a full wrap, let the pros install it. You can go to a Sign A Rama and have any graphics you want printed on the vinyl, and then try and install it yourself. But if it doesn't come out right, you've got to do it all over.

But if you really want to tackle it yourself, these guys won't laugh at you: Kinetic Animation When I finally decide to go "Overhaulin" marine-style on my boat, I'll use them.

The vinyl and inks used are supposed to be UV stable for at least 5 years. The vinyl will be just as delicate as paint which are both more delicate than gel coat. Not sure what the "don't trailer it" idea is, unless you have guideposts or something. If so, I'd say wrap the posts with bunk carpet.

So, you gonna get some nekkid ladies on the sides?

Yes, the sides, the back, the front, the top, the POLE!!! LOL
But you know me, it's bound to be something along those lines
As far as trailering, I didn't know how the vinyl would hold up at 60+ mph. The City buses used to have wraps on them and I would see it flapping here and there in places, but then again it was installed by lowest bidder also

And driven by the lowest bidder also

There are offshore powerboats running 100+mph with wraps. Short of actually scraping something, like a swingiing anchor, wraps are pretty tough. I gotta believe those fishboats see some blood and gaff hooks too, but you probably can't see the flaws outside of 10-20 feet.
