Hillsboro Inlet

We like Hillsboro Inlet, you can beach the boat on either side (inside the inlet). The south side has a deep anchorage area and the south side is great for beaching the boat. Can be crowed on the weekends, so go early. We usually bring our dog and the kids - it gives them a place to run and play...so we can relax.

Re: Hillsboro Inlet

Great place also very close by, have to be careful of the current... bring 2 anchors if you plan on being there for a while....

Ever hit Old Mans Cove???

Re: Hillsboro Inlet

Yes, we always bring two anchors, watch the tide and the current changes quickly! It's best on an incomming tide, the water is nice and clear and full of marine life. Even lake boca is nice on an incomming tide, but there is no dry land for the kids to run ( and get away from us adults...lol) Where is "old mans" cove?

Just west of the inlet in the ditch where it turns south, kind of small and something they have dredging equiptment there...

Lake Boca is cool at low tide, maybe 3 feet deep or so...

Re: Hillsboro Inlet

I've seen everyone anchored in the inlet but I've never stopped there. I usually head up to Lake Boca and try to catch low tide - clear, shallow water and a lot more room. Everyone in the inlet does seem to have a great time though, I might have to check it out.

Re: Hillsboro Inlet

You really can not go wrong at Hillsboro Inlet or Lake Boca. Two great locations to hang out and enjoy a cold one....

Ironically enough, all of those rocks you normally see there were completely submerged on Saturday. I've never seen that happen there before- I really feel for the boater who is unfamiliar with that area and doesn't know about those rocks.

Re: Hillsboro Inlet

I agree, at the inlet with a high tide (especially a full moon)... its most dangerous when its flat calm because people cant see the breakwater.

sat around the inlet for a while (former seatow captain)
