Family fun with the kids or singles party?

The intention of this site is to be a fun place for all. Just curious about the families vs. singles ratio on here.

I love adults-only raftups, but we can't leave the kid home alone. As long as I know one boat has children, I feel better. I am not for separation, but I am a little shy when I am the only one with a seven-year-old. And of course, the child has no one to play with.

I have no problem being around well behaved kids, and enjoy it most the time, but prefer to be able to let loose and get a little crazy on my craft without worrying about corrupting the "yutes".

Boating is, and should be, a family event. BUT...they should stay with Grandma when a raft-up is happening. That resolves a lot of issues and drunken sailors can be drunken sailors without worrying about mundane things like "decorum".

I enjoy having well behaved kids around,but when the kids are unruly,it can be dangerous for them and yourself.

Of course,for the unruly I keep a life vest,a roll of duct tape and a 20'length of rope handy.......

We don't have any kids yet but a lot of our boating friends do. If it's just 2 or 3 boats, I think kids are fine. I agree they shouldn't be at a raft-up.
