Coming to Ft. Lauderdale in early Jan, have ?'s

Myself along with 6 or 7 other people from MA are going down to visit a friend who lives in Ft. Lauderdale and has a house right on the intercoastal on Bayview Dr in the beginning of Jan. I'll be running a 27 ft hydrasport CC with MA numbers on it (it was shipped to her FL house after the season concluded on Cape Cod). I ran this boat all summer in Nantucket sound, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. My question is:

What are the FL state and Ft. L city boating regulations that may not be consistent with those in New England, specifically MA?

I was a harbormaster for 3 years on cape cod but I have never ran a boat in FL. Any other advice from captains that live in Ft. L can give me in my situation?

thanks guys

also feel free to email me kcm3686@hotmail.com

Hey, good time to be down here just in time for the Cold Blast!! Fl state and Ftl L regulations are pretty much the same as they are based around Coast Guard regulations as you know. Its Manatee season right now so the intracoastal is all idle or slow spee (sucks) Just mainly obey all the signs and be responsible and you are smooth sailing! I live on the intracoastal on bayview as well and see all types of idiots that will draw attention. enjoy
