Doe's anyone know if there is a campground near by glen springs where the raft up is? Where do we drop the boat in the water? Where is the dock? We are coming from Sebastian? Is anyone out there from Sebastian going next weekend?

Closest campground is Salt Springs. It is 5 miles north on 19. There is a boat ramp inside the Salt Springs campground you can use for free if you stay there. There is no dock at Silver Glen. It is just a 1/2 mile channel where the water from the springs runs out to Lake George. Easy to find from Salt Springs. Just run out to Lake George turn right and run 5 miles down to SG.

Re: Raft-Up.com cruise???

Another choice a little further north on the St. John's @ Georgetown (east side of the river, north end of Lake George) is Scrufty's (Scruftys Riverwood Rv Park Georgetown Florida Lake George Camping, scruftysriverwood.com). Check out the website, lots of info there. 2 things not mentioned on the website, he just recently put in a boat ramp; also, there's an excellent "mom&pop" restaurant next door - we had b'fast there...we loved it. The whole campground neat as a pin, very clean -very friendly folks!!

I was concerned with the water not being deep enough in the boat slips and grounding the boat. Should I be concerned?

At what location are you concerned about? The Glen, Salt Springs campground, Scrufty's? We've been fortunate to have a lot of rain lately, the river should be "up".

Scrufty owns several airboats. You shouldn't have any problem there, but you can always call Scrufty. He'll know better than anyone. I don't think you'll have any problem, the only shallow place in that area that I know of is the SE corner of Drayton Island. When you're in the channel heading south into Lake George, just as you get to the lake Drayton is on the right. Don't cut too close to the island, stay in the channel. All of Lake George is pretty much 8', we don't worry too much about staying in the channel there.
