Marine Audio

Just wondering what everyone's choice is for marine audio. I just bought:

1. Clarion CMD4 Stereo
2. JL Audio marine amp.
3. JL Audio Marine speakers

I'm having this installed next week- hoping it will sound like a concert!

Re: Marine Audio

I put in a perfect rig our our boat:
Pioneer DVD AM/FM/XM head unit (this is not a marine unit, so it is mounted in the cabin, and has lasted there for 3 years)
IR remote for above unit
XM reciever for head unit
Ipod Aux adapter for head unit
Blaupunkt 5 channel amp with sub amplifier
2 Polyplanar front speakers
2 Boston Acoustic Voyager rear speakers
1 Bazooka Marine sub (10")
15" LCD flat panel TV

This rig has been fail safe for 3 years, plus has a lot of options.. the ipod adapter is great, as anyone with an ipod can just plug in and go!

Re: Marine Audio

How do you like the CMD4 ? I am considering it for my new system. I just bought a marine amp, a Kicker 10" sub and 4 Bose speakers.

Re: Marine Audio

What kind of draw does a sweet setup like that have on your battery? Are you guys running your motor/genset all the time or just off of your battery? I am looking at updating my system but don't want to have to be running the motor all the time (its no quiet 4s...) and I am running off of one battery.

You need 2 0r 3 for a bigger setup. Even with 2, I start my engine every half hour or so.

Yup......I am going just fine with a Sony marine head unit, four 6 1/2" Clarions, two 10" Clarions, a 10" Kicker sub tube in the console, XM, I-Pod and a 1200 watt Rockford Fosgate amp to power it all up. Its loud enough that at 60 MPH I can hear the music very clear over the engines, wind and water noise.

But when partying at night you need more than just music, you rig needs to look like this.....................................
