Ok, so I was planning on a nice hook up from Raytheon until they told our friend she has to sign all kinds of docs stating the gear was for her boat, cant be sold to anyone else, etc etc, punishable by Abu Ghraib style torture. So...

Can anyone get any good deals on this stuff? Even slightly used? I would prefer the Raymarine C80 multifunction with GPS and radar, will take GPS only for now, and will consider other brands.

talk to jonathan about marine electronics, i think he said he used to work in that field. I know he ran in to talk to some guy he knew from work at a marine electronics store when we were in the keys and im sure he knows plenty of others in the industry

Please correct me if I am wrong, but who cares if it was to go on her boat? You could just say you bought it (or stole it ).....

She has security clerance, works on top secret projects for Raytheon, and they would require her to sign a notarized contract that the equipment was for her use. I wouldnt be in trouble, she would, so definitely not worth putting a friends job at risk so I pay a bit less. Even if she was ok with it I wouldnt let her. Sucks for me though
