I am going to try and make it out Saturday to what I have been told is the play pen. I was wondering if there is any special advice for asking people to tie up to or do most people just anchor themselves? If anyone is interested in tie a few boats up let me know I am always up for meeting new people.

Most boaters are friendly, and you can just roll up and ask to raft-up. That is party of the reason I had the Raft-Up.com burgee (Flag) made- it identifies you as friendly and ready to party on the water.
