Memorial Day Weekend at Ski Island

We have been out to Ski island 3 of the last 4 weeks and have had the time of our lives. It seems to just keep getting better as the temp rises. We are planning to be out there throughout Memorial Day Weekend. If you're in Central Florida and not going to The Glenn I would have to recommend Ski Island. If you get there very early you can bring a tent and camp out (If you're too late, there are a couple other islands close by to tent up for over night), There is also a pontoon boat/diner that is normally there and certain to be for that weekend. I expect 100-200 boats a day there so grab a spot early and plan to be entertained. Let us know if you're going would love to Raft-up with ya.

Hey Yall!

Welcome aboard! Which Ski Island are you reffering to? Seems like every lake and river around here has a Ski Island, Bird Island, Beer Island, etc..
After Memorial Day I will have to break out the Badinkadink and come hook up with yall!

That would be great to meet up with you out there. As far as I know Ski Island is the one we go to out on the Bananna River, right next to the Lochs in Port Canaveral. We drop in at either Kelly Park on 528 on the west side of the bridge on Bananna River Rd or we drop in at the tiki bar in Port Canaveral and go back through the Lochs. Just depends on the traffic at Kelly Park. Anyway, we have tried a few different places and so far this is our fav. We were planning on doing the Glenn but alot of people at the island have told us the police are getting too strict there and makes it more of a hassle then it's worth, Your thoughts??

No Worries Mate! The Popo is usually distracted by circling around the Badonkadonk all the time,

But really, they are in there pretty heavy during the day, as long as you don't get totally crazy there is no problems. There is no booze allowed inside the Glen but if you have a good supply of Dixie Cups you'll be in good shape. Other than that there are no issues at all. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Have you ever been over to Disappearing Island yet? I know a lot of people that go there and it's supposed to be a lot of fun also but I do like the camping out idea.

Yes, I have been planning on going there soon. If you look up disappearing island florida on Youtube you can see some video's and you can also go to disappearingisland.com. I'm torn between where to go for Memorial Day weekend?? I may have to split it up over the weekend.

We consider ourselves Silver Glen veterans & would like to add a few suggestions. Make sure you meet all the rules & regs. for boating, consider putting your beverage into a non-descript container, and don't draw attention to yourself (we try to restrain ourselves from jumping off the top of our houseboat...!) - at least until after the sun goes down, that's when the fun really starts!!!

I'll be heading over to "ski island" for memorial day too. (I didn't know the name of the island either.) I had a great time there last labor day. It looks like we'll be getting there sometime after noon on Sat and heading back home on monday. Sorry to be ditching y'all at the glen but something tells me you'll get along without us.

I would love to try The Glenn for Memorial Day weekend but for starters we only have a little 20' Sea Doo Ski Boat so no where to stay overnight plus we live in Lake Nona so it is a quick shot out on 528 to Port Canaveral, however I do think we will be planning a trip up to The glenn soon. I'll keep an eye out for the next big weekend out there
