Who's up for the Glen this weekend? There is a group of us that are planning to head up there this weekend. Probably head up there sometime Friday afternoon and stay til Sunday.

I think I'll be able to make it. Are there any campsites available up there? If so who do i call to reserve one?

Hey Irish! There is no Camping facilities at the Glen but here is some info I posted quite a while back about places close by to stay.......

Here's a few places I know of, Blairs usually fills up pretty quick so I would check soon if you plan on staying.....
Blair's Jungle Den on the St. John's River - Motel

Parramore's Fantastic Fish Camp & Family Resort in Astor, Florida on the St. Johns River.

Welcome to the St John's River Campground located in Central Florida
*UPDATE*
I received this email from them...

We are not on the river, but we do have 2 other campgrounds that are riverfront, they are Astor Landing 352-759-2121, and also powells Campground 352-759-2010. I hope this helps.

Astor Florida Vacation Rentals, Hotels, Map and Attractions
(just another site I googled up)

I'm in central Florida - What boat ramp do you use to get to the Glen?

Hey Bee! It really depends, most the time I trailer up to Astor and put it there, it's only about a 15-20 min run from there. If I want to make it a longer cruise on the water I will put in at the highway 44 ramp or even Lake Monroe ramp in Sanford but it's a Looooong boat ride from there.
We would love to see you up there!

It doesn't appear that many people are interested this weekend. Is everyone partied out from last weekend or did everyone just sell their boats??

Re: This Weekend 4/25,26,27-Silver Glen

I know there are 4-5 boats at least that will be there plus the regulars that always go to the Glen.
I think everyones fingers are tired from working the calculator buttons at Tax time that's why they're not posting,
Busybee, flboatcpl, are any of you planning on showing up? Remeber we have a stress test scheduled for the new pole to make sure it's going to be ready for Memorial Day Weekend

stress test huh? I got a buddy that weighs about 300lbs, and if we feed him enough alcohol I bet he would test it for you.

Hmmm, I was thinking more along the lines of 3 100lb women instead, and if we feed them enough alcohol who knows what will happen!
But we might need your buddy to be a counter weight on the bow if things really get cranking,
